Jon Kuhn is one of the most recognized and acclaimed glass makers on the planet using cold glass techniques. He has spent decades mastering the art of laminating optical grade crystals into the most mesmerizing and highly sought after glass pieces in the market today.
Most known for his Cubes showing an inner core of colors and shapes surrounded by a larger clear crystal casing. His larger scale cubes and works begin with smaller scale studies to finalize details and designs before going into weeks or months long production times.
In more recent years he began creating his color study inner cores as stand alone works of art. These smaller scale pieces are more colorful works that are highly collectible pieces giving more people the ability to join the exclusive club Kuhn Collectors.
This Red Jewel is created with thousands of pieces of optical grade crystals cut, polished and intricately laminated into their final pattern, stacking one layer upon the other. The final piece is a small city of color and light and reflections. Refractions that change and dance with each new angle and lighting change.
The Red Jewel is permanently attached to the stunning glass blue base that glistens with shimmering purple tones as if it was the deep ocean water lit by moonlight.
